Children's club membership is open to all children in the age group of 5 to 14 years. We provide coaching in table tennis, chess, badminton, art. Classes are conducted diligently by committed coaches.
Sports
Table TennisThe Table Tennis coaching at the Club is immensely popular and is conducted 5 - 6 evenings every week. In-house TT tournaments are held every year.
ChessThe Club has been conducting chess coaching for several years now for children in the age group of 5 to 14 years.
Badminton (Shuttle)An outdoor court has been set up and coaching has commenced since October, for children above 7 years - intended primarily for beginners.
Art classes
Our drawing and painting classes are conducted every Saturday and Sunday by distinguished artist Smt. Shubada Vijay Bibikar.
Library
The Club has set up a children's library within the club premises and children are being encouraged to get into the reading habit. It is seeking book donations from volunteers and members on subjects of interest including
- Reference ( Encyclopedia, Dictionary, Atlas)
- Fiction & Non - Fiction (Classic/ contemporary)
Other activities
The Club organises Annual Inter-School and Open Competitions in Music, Recitation, Story-telling, Drama & Folk Music and these have become landmark events for the children from near and far. The Annual Open Art Competition, usually held in July/August has become a platform for children to exhibit their creative talents.
- The Annual Music competition includes Carnatic Vocal, Violin, Mridangam, Flute, Bhajan and Folk Music categories.
- Recitation competition is conducted in 4 languages, viz. Tamil, English, Hindi and Sanskrit. Story telling is conducted in Tamil, English and Hindi. Drama and Folk Music are group events.
